Quick reminder to fans of MMA, Strikeforce, and hot girl-on-girl action that Strikeforce: Tate vs Rousey will be taking place this coming Saturday (March 3rd) on Showtime.
Why should you care? Well, the fate of women’s MMA has been in limbo since the UFC purchased Strikeforce last year. This card doesn’t necessarily guarantee a long-lasting future for the division, but it’s heartening that Strikeforce is continuing to feature female fighters in its main events. This card will see women’s Bantamweight champ Meisha “Takedown” Tate defending her title against outspoken former-Olympian “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey. The two have been waging a war of words over Twitter for the past several months. This will be their chance to showcase just how dynamic women’s MMA can be.
